MADE POSSIBLE BY THE BUTTE SKI CLUB FOUNDATION.

The Fritz Apostel Dream Third Grade Water Safety Program provides one hour of classroom instruction and three hours of hands on, in the water training over the course of three days.  This program offers basic swimming skills as well as more advanced swimming skills, rescue skills, safe boating practices including life jacket safety, and many more water safety practices to every third cgader in the Butte area.  This is done annually during April and May just in time to send the children splashing into the summer months. It was Fritz Apostel's dream to ensure all children learn to swim: allowing them to safely enjoy Montana's surrounding lakes and rivers.  Sadly, the current status is that Montana is one of ten states where drowning is the number one cause of death for kids 14 years and under. Let's not include our Butte kids in those numbers!
